Share images on Reddit

Upload once, copy a direct link or Markdown snippet, and paste into Reddit comments and posts — free guest uploads, no account required.

Overview

Share images on Reddit with a direct link

Reddit supports native image uploads in many posts, but comments, cross-posts, and some communities still need an external image URL. imgtree gives you a direct hotlink or Markdown snippet you can paste anywhere Reddit accepts links.

Guest uploads work with no account — upload a screenshot or photo, copy the link, and paste it into your post or comment.

Upload

Upload your image

Drop a file on the imgtree home page or use the Chrome extension to capture and upload a screenshot in one step.

When the upload completes, open the image page to copy the direct URL, Markdown, or HTML embed code.

Comments

Paste a link in comments

For comment threads, copy the direct image URL from imgtree and paste it into your Reddit comment. Reddit often auto-embeds image URLs on desktop and mobile.

If auto-preview does not appear, use Markdown format from the image page: ![description](direct_url) — Reddit’s comment editor supports this in many clients.

  • Direct URL — simplest; Reddit may render a preview automatically
  • Markdown — ![alt text](url) from the imgtree image page
  • Page link — share the /i/… page URL when you want viewers to copy embed codes too

Posts

Link posts and text posts

For a link post, submit the imgtree image page URL or direct file URL as the link target, depending on what the subreddit allows.

In a text post, paste the Markdown or direct URL inline. Check the subreddit rules — some restrict external image hosts or require native uploads only.

Tips

Subreddit rules and hotlinking

Always read subreddit rules before posting external image links. Some subs block non-approved domains or require OC tags for original content.

imgtree is intended for screenshots, diagrams, and photos you have the right to share. Do not upload copyrighted or illegal material — see our terms of service.
